Shaykh Hassan Elsetohy
Shaykh Hassan Elsetohy is a seasoned professional with multiple qualifications. He has worked extensively in multiple countries in the
private sector for almost 20 years. Notably he has held various roles in IBM including working on the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games in Australia.
Alongside this, Shaykh Hassan has been an active contributor
to Sydney’s Muslim community too. Having graduated from Al-Azhar University in
Egypt, he holds numerous ijazat (certifications) in the traditional Islamic
sciences including Qur’an, Hadith, Fiqh and more. He also undertook the role of
CEO at Muslim Aid Australia, an Islamic charity, and grew the organisation from
~$2M to over $16M in seven years.
He is also well known for being able to capture the hearts
of his audience through his priceless pearls of wisdom and rich spiritual
insights. As a shaykh and spiritual master who has achieved much in the world
of business and been in service to our community for over a decade, Shaykh
Hassan has many inspiring stories to share.
Sean Mcnulty
Sean McNulty is the one of the original founders and hosts of stories at the park. He is known for bringing back the rich tradition of storytelling under the stars and has experience transporting his listeners into eras and civilisations of the past.
1. How long will the event be?
The event is composed of two stories and Maghrib and Isha prayer times. Maghrib prayer will start at 5.30PM, with the stories starting at 6PM. The event will wrap up after Isha prayer at approximately 9PM.
2. Will there be free parking?
Yes, free parking is available at the venue.
3. Will there be an AUSLAN interpreter?
Yes, an AUSLAN interpreter will be present at our August Story Night.
4. Will there be dinner?
There will be food stalls with fried rice and fried chicken as well as other hot food items. You can also buy food bundles when purchasing your ticket online! There will also be a variety of snacks available for purchase such as apple tea, popcorn, fairy floss, soft drinks.
5. Are prayer facilities available?
We will have Maghrib and Isha prayers at the park under the night sky.
6. What happens if it rains?
We have an alternative indoor venue as a contingency, but we will keep everyone posted with updates leading up to the event if there is a chance of rain. Please check your emails and our Instagram and Facebook pages @Muslimyouthassociationau the night before the event for the latest updates!
7. Do I have to register beforehand?
Yes. Please scroll down this page to find the three ticket options for the event.
8. Do I have to bring my own picnic mat/blanket and prayer mat?
We encourage all participants to bring their own mats and blankets to ensure a COVID-safe environment.
9. Will there be heaters?
Yes, there will be heaters but it’s best to come prepared and wearing multiple layers of clothing and jackets!
