We invite you to immerse yourself in the warm experience of a tale well told, steaming hot food, and many valuable Muslim friends you’ll make along the way!

Kamal Saleh

Based in Sydney, Australia, Kamal Saleh is a renowned speaker whose passion lays in spreading the message of Islam through multimedia avenues. He has always been someone who has loved to express himself through Art. He is known for his spoken word talents across the world and has used his poetry in order to project the religion of Islam in a positive light.

Kamal has shown the Muslim community, at large, just how powerful our talents can be in propagating the truth of Islam. He has inspired and touched both Muslim and Non-Muslims in the millions and continues to reach more audiences through his current involvement in OnePath and various other community initiatives.

Mukhlis Mah

Mukhlis Mah is a UNSW graduate in Geochemistry. Coming from a Chinese heritage, being born and brought up in Australia, Mukhlis adds to his repertoire by being a current student of arabic at the Islamic University of Madinah. He has been teaching arabic to young Australians for many years now and is a well renowned khateeb and story teller.

1. How long will the event be? 

The event is composed of two stories and Maghrib and Isha prayer times. It will start at 7.30PM and finish at approximately 9PM. 

2. Will there be free parking?

Yes, free parking is available. 

3. Will there be an AUSLAN interpreter?

Yes, an AUSLAN interpreter will be present at our February Story Night.

4. Will there be dinner?

There will be food stalls with biryani and other hot food items. Chai will also be served at no extra cost! There are also fairy floss and candy bags available for the children’s snacks. 

5. Are prayer facilities available?

We will have Maghrib and Isha prayers at the park under the night sky.

6. What happens if it rains? 

We have an alternative indoor venue as a contingency, but we will keep everyone posted with updates leading up to the event if there is a chance of rain. Please check your emails and our Instagram and Facebook pages @Muslimyouthassociationau the night before the event for the latest updates! 

7. Do I have to register beforehand?

8. Do I have to bring my own picnic mat/blanket and prayer mat?

We encourage all participants to bring their own mats and blankets to ensure a COVID-safe environment. 

9. How will you ensure this event is COVID-safe? 

The organising team will adhere to Government guidelines and restrictions in regards to hosting a large outdoor event and serving food. The food handlers will be wearing masks and gloves, and will encourage social distancing during the event. 

 10. Do I need to be double vaccinated to attend?

According to current NSW Health guidelines, if you are over 16 you must be double vaccinated to be able to attend.
